The largest tulip garden in Asia will debut on March 19 in Srinagar

The largest tulip garden in Asia, which has over 1.5 million tulips of 68 different varieties, will open to the public on March 19 in Srinagar, Kashmir. To ensure that the garden is in full bloom when it opens, hundreds of gardeners are putting in countless hours of work. The tulip garden, which is situated beneath the Zabarwan Hills and looks out onto the renowned Dal Lake, is now in full bloom and resembles nothing short of a floral wonderland. A tulip festival is also being planned by the floriculture division for the first week of April.

To ensure that there are tulips everywhere when the event opens, we also prepare crates from greenhouses that we make sure to bloom in greenhouses. These crates serve as decoration for the entrance way. For the visitors, approximately 3000 flower pots are prepared with a lot of effort “said the tulip garden’s manager, Inam-ul-Rehman.

To get the garden ready for visitors, 500 gardeners and staff are working around the clock. The garden is prepared over the course of about six months, and extensive planning begins well in advance of the garden’s opening.
